报告题目：Chorus in Earth’s Magnetosphere
报告摘要：Earth’s magnetosphere is a natural laboratory for studying various processes in plasma physics. Chorus is one of the most interesting products of this lab. Occurring in whistler mode wave frequency range, chorus waves are discrete emissions with upward or downward frequency chirping. The generation mechanism of this wave is not well understood and is a subject of intense ongoing research. In this talk, I will present a brief introduction to chorus, a short review of what we have learned from observation, and an observation-theory comparison of frequency sweep rates of rising tone chorus.
